'No on 48' Campaign Rally and Media Event

On Wednesday, Sept. 10, 12-1 pm, the 'No on 48' campaign will be kicked off with a rally and media event at Auraria Campus in Denver. Signs and stickers will be provided, along with free t-shirts for the first 50 activists.

It is important to show strong community support for this event. If you work near downtown, you can do it on your lunch break. Click here for more information and to RSVP.

    About Amendment 48:

Amendment 48 would define a fertilized egg as a person in Colorado's constitution. The stated intent of the backers is to not only outlaw abortion, but to create a challenge to Roe v. Wade by taking this issue back to the Supreme Court. It also threatens in vitro fertilization, stem cell research, access to emergency contraception for rape and incest victims, and common forms of birth control such as the Pill.

Today's campaign kick-off was great.  The event was covered by plenty of reporters, including Fox News Channel 31.  Click this link for the story, and see the sidebar under Related Items/Videos for aired coverage.

Channel Four also covered the event:  http://cbs4denver.com/politics/Abortion.Amendment.Opponents.2.814480.html.

If you would be willing to display a yard sign, or distribute some, or get some literature to help educate your friends, family members, and all the women you know about this dangerous ballot initiative, you can stop by Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains at 7155 E. 38th Avenue, Denver, CO 80207.  Those of you who are not in Denver, there should be people in your area who have signs to distribute.  Contact the No on 48 Campaign for more information on this.  If you are in Northeast Denver, you can stop by my house in Green Valley Ranch for some materials.  Just send me an email for more information.
